Install WordPress Plugins Using MAMP

MAMP users might get prompted for FTP credentials when trying to add a new WordPress plugin. One solution is to set MAMP as the owner (www) in Hosts > Permissions but this method will require you to go back and forth frequently. The other solution is to Run Apache/MySQL server as user/user. In MAMP, go to Server > General > Run Apache/MySQL server as user and select your username.

Using WordPress Links in Featured Image Captions

WordPress can act up when you try to create hyperlinks inside of featured image captions as a result of the built-in editor which is designed to strip HTML tags. One way of getting around this stumbling block is to define your anchor’s href attribute using single quotes (‘) instead of double quotes (“).
